Ludvig Åberg ei pode menestyskrapulaa Ryder Cupista – paras tiiltä viheriölle PGA Tourin kisassa

Sensaatiomaisen hyvän startin ammattilaisuralleen saanut Åberg loisti Viktor Hovlandin rinnalla edellisviikonloppuna Roomassa. Jo neljä päivää myöhemmin ruotsalaistähti aloitti lyöntishown PGA Tourin Missisippin kisassa, jossa 24-vuotias Åberg taistelee kärkisijoista, jopa voitosta sunnuntain kierroksella.
Suuri osa Ryder Cupissa mukana olleista Euroopan ja USA:n joukkueiden pelaajista pitää tällä viikolla taukoa kilpailemisesta.
Euroopan joukkueessa Viktor Hovlandin parina kaksi ottelua kolmesta ylivoimaiseen tapaan luvuin 9/7 ja 4/3 voittanut Ludvig Åberg on mukana Jacksonissa, Missisippin osavaltiossa pelattavasa Sanderson Farms Championshipissa.

Kolmen kierroksen jälkeen Åberg (-14) on kahdeksantena, kuuden lyönnin päässä johdossa olevasta Ben Griffnista (-20), kolme lyöntiä toista sijaa hallussaan pitävästä Carl Yuanista (-17)
Åbergin poikkeuksellisesta valmiudesta menestyä jatkuvalla syötöllä pääkiertueilla heti ammattilaiseksi siirryttyään kertovat myös meneillään olevan kisan Strokes Gained -tilastot:
Åberg siirtyi ammattilaiseksi kesäkuussa. Meneillään oleva kilpailu on tämän jälkeen 11.
PGA Tourilla hän on seitsemässä aiemmassa kisassaan sijoittunut parhaimmillaan neljänneksi, neljä kertaa 25:n joukkoon. Näiden kisojen muodostamassa jaksossa Åberg oli paras avauksissa, joka on sensaatiomaisen kova saavutus.
Åberg vakuutti lopullisesti Euroopan joukkueen kapteenin Luke Donaldin sijoittumalla DP World Tourilla Tsekin kisassa neljänneksi, voittamalla Sveitsissä ja sijoittumalla kymmenenneksi Tourin lippulaivakisassa, BMW PGA Championshipissa.

The Country Club of Jackson kentällä on sunnuntaina luvassa hyvin mielenkiintoinen mittelö kärkisijoista. PGA Tourilla ensimmäistä voittoaan tavoitteleva Ben Griffin on kovien paineiden alla.
Åbergin lisäksi ykköstilaa mielii toinen ruotsalainen, kuusi kertaa PGA Tourilla sijaluvuille 4-5 yltänyt Henrik Norlander (-16), joka on tuloslistalla kolmantena.
